Leadership
and Management Essentials
The
International Leadership Center's scheduled and custom programs
provide training for leaders, executives and managers from many
specializations and areas of the world. At varying times in all
organizations, people exercise leadership and management roles,
some devoting more time to one than the other at any time. ILC defines
organizations as interactive systems in which people work together
in complex environments to accomplish common goals.
Leaders
and their supporters are inextricably bound; the success of one
is bound up with the other. Leaders are particularly concerned with
change, and change has become relentless as international cooperative
and competitive conditions grow more extensive, volatile and demanding.
Effective leaders anticipate the future, set direction, and inspire
those around them to new levels of productivity, innovation, and
commitment. There is no single best leadership style, yet leaders
connect with followers and leverage their contributions. We know
from leadership studies that there are a number of strategies that
can be applied, personally and organizationally, to achieve better,
wiser leadership. These strategy skills can be developed through
training.
Managers
ensure that processes operate efficiently and effectively. They
cope with organizational complexity. They plan and budget, organize
and staff, direct and report, control and problem-solve. Well-managed
organizations are productive and balanced. At any point in time,
good leaders may be managers and good managers may be leaders.
ILC
offers leadership and management insight and training that enable
leaders and managers to connect. We prepare people to create high-achieving
organizations whose products and services satisfy market demands
for cost, quality, and timeliness.
Integral
to leadership and management, the ability to perform effectively
in cross-cultural environments continues to be increasingly more
significant in the tightly connected global economy. ILC prepares
people to be more effective through, as appropriate, culture-general
and/or culture-specific training.
