Principals
Lucie
Phillips, Ph.D., ILC Associate, founder and CEO of IBI Consulting,
has extensive experience identifying needs and implementing training
for improved performance within businesses, government, and non-profit
organizations, especially in developing countries. She has taught
at the University of Maryland, Columbia University, and Johns Hopkins
School of Advanced International Studies. A recognized development
economist, she has led project teams on numerous consulting assignments,
designed business training modules for women in development and
financial reform, and published and edited various policy works
on strategies for economic development in Africa.
Joel
Schlesinger, Ph.D., IBI Consulting Senior Vice President for
Business Development and COO, International Leadership Center, is
long experienced with development programs and leadership training.
He has over thirty years of private, public, and NGO experience
in developing areas, especially Africa. He has designed, led, and
evaluated scores of economic development projects from economic
policy reform at the highest levels of government to private sector
cluster building, technology transfer, and firm-level asset creation.
He is an experienced trainer and facilitator who appreciates the
impact of social, cultural, and historical influences on policy
formulation, project design, and organizational effectiveness. Prior
to joining IBI, Dr. Schlesinger held senior positions in USAID and
has won recognition for innovation in organizational reinvention.
Dr. Schlesinger is adjunct professor of organizational behavior
and advanced human resources management at a Washington, D.C.-area
university MBA program. He holds a doctorate in management and organizational
leadership
Robert
C. Morris, Ph.D., is Director, of the International Leadership
Center, (ILC). He has been involved with management, communication
and development training and projects in many parts of the world
for more than thirty years. He was Director of the International
Communication Workshops at Michigan State University and has studied
and written on management style adaptation of international executives
in differing cultural environments. He is also the author of a book
on nationally sponsored international volunteer programs and edited,
with Dr. Susanne Morris, the book series, Management-Communication,
published by the State University of New York Press.
Susanne
R. Morris, Ph.D., Deputy Director, International Leadership
Center, supports many of the Center's activities, especially its
research projects for public and private sector clients. She has
presented hundreds of seminars on a variety of management topics
and taught public policy and directed the Masters Program in Public
Policy and Administration at Michigan State University for a number
of years. She has been a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Information
Agency and served as policy analyst with the legislatures of California
and Michigan.
Associates
ILC programs are conducted by its Principals and Associates, accomplished
and long-experienced professionals including many leading academics
and senior consultants in the fields of business, communication,
social science, education, and international development. ILC teams
also respond to custom needs of clients as well as provide the highly
regarded standard programs.
