with the Customer
Under
a USAID-funded project to strengthen women-owned businesses, IBI
trained two Malian women's cooperatives with a combined membership
of over 150 to expand and develop new product lines in the hand-loomed
textile and soap making industries. They first consulted with potential
customers to determine their product, timing, and quality needs
and adjusted their production accordingly. As a result, both groups
increased and diversified their clientele base by 35 percent, adding
new local customers as well as clients from Burkina Faso and Guinea.
