GHANA/TIPCEE PROJECT

Thanks to the efficient technical assistance provided by an IBI Tropical and Sub-tropical Fruits expert, Ghanaian mango farmers assisted by the Ghana Trade and Investment Program for a Competitive Economy (TIPCEE) Project exported 260 tons of mangos (13 containers) to Europe with good results. This remarkable result represents a doubling of Ghana's mango exports compared to 1996-2006 data with exports ranging from 120 to 240 tons of mangos per year. It augurs well for growers assisted by the Ghana/TIPCEE Project, who have demonstrated their ability to apply good mango cultivation and post-harvest practices, and export a product that meets stringent international quality standards, including "EurepGAP Fruit and Vegetables" certification criteria.
